Free Range Creativity help people to get outdoors, active, inspired, in the mood to play, enjoy and co-exist within the natural world. It is led by Dr Mel McCree.
Formed in 2014, we support and develop land-based community and educational projects, through both practice and research. In particular, we focus upon woodlands for outdoor arts, play and learning, such as Forest School. We also support woodland wellbeing, creative arts, collaborative land management and training.
We are based in Gloucestershire, England and work both locally and internationally.
Currently, Mel is working on:
1) Western Forest Land Access for Wellbeing study
2) coaching and mentoring for nature-based practitioner start-up and business development.
3) Reclaim the Rain :Lead evaluator for a £100,000 community engagement evaluation within a £6.5 million DEFRA-funded national flood and drought resilience programme. Findings currently being disseminated to the Environment Agency and policymakers nationally.
We specialise in: outdoor and nature-based learning · community engagement and co-production · programme evaluation · practitioner development and coaching · EDI in the outdoors
